Organise a tea or coffee break for Tibet
There are many easy and fun ways to support Tibet.
You can even raise funds and awareness by arranging a tea or coffee break with friends or colleagues in the comfort of your own work place or home.
Treat it as an excuse to get back in touch with old friends or just take a rest from your busy schedule and help Tibet at the same time.
If you always get the tea at work, how about asking staff for a donation this time; at least they can feel good about you doing all the work for a change!
So you can stand up for Tibet even by sitting down to share a pot of tea!

What do I have to do?
*Pick a date
KEY DATES: The Dalai Lama's birthday, July; 10 March, Tibetan Uprising.
*Choose a location
Your own workplace or home are the easiest, but you may choose to meet up at a coffee shop or cafe at the weekend.
Churches and local community centres are also good options, and many will help you with your event.
*Invite your friends
Print out invitation forms and fill them in with the location, date, time and the invited person's name.
If arranging Tea for Tibet at work, email everyone in your office or workplace a week before, inviting them to attend, perhaps at a lunch or break time, or if your company is interested, in a designated solidarity break for the people of Tibet.
If you're meeting up outside hours with friends, how about sending them a Facebook message and get them to forward it to their friends too?
*What to do
Charge £1 per cup of tea or coffee, raising funds for the Tibetan cause!
Catch up with old friends, meet new ones or kick-start your working day on a positive note!
There are many ways you can spice up your Tea for Tibet event as well!
*Encourage participants to bring cakes, biscuits or other nibbles, charging a donation for each.
*Print out a sheet of frequently asked questions about Tibet to stimulate a discussion.
*Do a Tibet quiz, with the winner getting that elusive extra slice of cake or the loser having to do the washing up!
*Encourage your work place to donate a raffle prize and charge £1 for tickets, or ask your friends to donate unwanted Christmas gifts; one person's unwanted gift is another's perfect present!
*Having a 'loving kindness' donation box at home or work to accompany a Tea party; every time somebody says or does something unkind, they have to put a pound in the box!
*Buy a Free Tibet mug and tea towel so your group looks the part!
*If you're feeling really brave, how about offering Tibetan butter tea instead of your traditional beverage?
