Stop forced nomadic resettlement
For centuries, nomads have lived sustainably with the delicate eco-system of the vast Tibetan plateau.
But now, hundreds of thousands of Tibetan nomads are being wrenched off their land and thrown into desolate tenement housing where they are no longer able to sustain themselves. The land is cleared to make way for strip-mining projects which seriously damage the environment.

Message for Tibet
As we approach the international day of the dissapeared we are asking Tibet supporters from all over the world to send us their messages of support which we will put onto traditional prayer flags and hang in Dharamsala India, the heart of the Tibetan exile community.
We already hung supporters messages earlier this year (see picture) and we aim to bring over many more messages of solidarity from all over the world. We hope that in the tradition of the prayer flags, these messages will be carried on the wind to Tibetans inside Tibet at a time when over a thousand Tibetans remain missing.

End torture in Tibet
Following the arrest of thousands of peaceful protesters in March and April, at least 1,249 Tibetan men, women and children are unaccounted for and at serious risk of torture.
They need your help now.
Despite torture being prohibited, Free Tibet has exposed how torture is used by China as a weapon against opposition and protest.
In November, Free Tibet gave evidence to the United Nations of systematic torture in Tibet. We highlighted the failure of legal safeguards and revealed Chinese policies which create the conditions in which torture is likely to occur,

Help give Tibetans their voice back
The Chinese government have created a climate of fear and self-censorship in which Tibetans are given harsh sentences for daring to express their views. Paljor Norbu (left), an 81-year-old Tibetan who was arrested for making leaflets and flags, is currently serving a seven year sentence.
