We would like to thank the thousands of Tibet supporters who turned out at the Olympic Torch Relay in London in April, demonstrating the huge level of support which exists for the Tibetan people, and preventing China from using the relay to promote a propaganda view of a 'harmonious nation' where human rights abuses against the Tibetan people do not take place.
Your passion in joining the peaceful protests in London kick-started a
global rejection of the use of the Olympics as a propaganda tool, leading to China and the IOC having to abandon relays in Paris and San Francisco, and perhaps most notably of all, having to cut short the Tibetan leg of the relay, ensuring that the eyes of the world were watching, preventing the heavy handed approach to protesting Tibetans which the regime promised.
