A Special Appeal from Shameless Star David Threlfall

Help Tibet’s tortured or ignore this message? The choice is yours.

“...They covered my head again and brought me to an interrogation room. This time they used a belt to beat me. I felt overwhelming pain but didn’t utter any words. I was angry and when the policeman saw this in my face he suddenly pulled out a gun and pressed it against my forehead. He said: ‘If you don’t tell me who sent you to protest I will kill you immediately.’ The whole room became silent for few seconds and then he put his gun back and went towards the chair.“

Dear Sup
porter

My name is David and like you I am a supporter of Free Tibet. I am also an actor and those words could have so easily been taken from a horror film script – but they’re not. These are the words of Choedon who was only 16 when she was tortured in Tibet simply for taking part in a peaceful protest. After reading Choedon’s testimony I wanted to share it with you and urge you to support Free Tibet’s Stop Torture Campaign.

If Choedon’s brutal experience has angered you, if the injustice of her case has made you feel fortunate to live in a free country then please, don’t ignore this message, take action today.

As a father it pains me to think that Tibetans as young as 16 are experiencing such violence and torment. Choedon’s experience is tragically not unique: torture is a weapon against dissent, long -used by the Chinese authorities to persecute and intimidate the Tibetan people.

Please dig deep into your pockets - with your continued support we can help to end torture and awaken a new era of freedom in Tibet.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you too will feel compelled to support Free Tibet to Stop Torture in Tibet.

Best wishes

David Threlfall
