China Today & Tomorrow
- Will Hutton and Rob Gifford in conversation with John Gittings

Wednesday 14 May, 2008 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM
Location: Asia House

Doors 6.30pm

Rob Gifford’s China Road, follows the 3,000 mile long Route 312 from Shanghai to Kazakhstan, a quest into the heart of the new China. Will Hutton’s The Writing on the Wall: China and the West in the 21st Century examines the implications of China’s progress towards becoming a world superpower. Together they discuss the economic and social challenges that China faces in the 21st century. Can it really become the superpower that many predict? Or could it all collapse – with devastating consequences for China and the rest of the world?

They will be joined by John Gittings, the author of The Changing Face of China.
