Don't turn your back on Tibet

Sign the e-petition to the Chinese Embassy

In March and April 2008 Tibetans demonstrated their emphatic rejection of China’s ongoing repression and human rights abuses in Tibet. The situation has worsened since the protests with a huge build up of troops in Tibet, the detention of over one thousand Tibetans and the imposition of a media blackout in Tibet.

The text of the e-petition is as follows:

Your Excellency,

I demand that your government, in line with its responsibility as a major world power.

*Releases from prison all those imprisoned for peaceful protests in Tibet.
*Removes restrictions on electronic and phone communications, movement in and out of Tibet, and in particular, allows journalists and independent agencies access to Tibet.
*Ceases its patriotic re-education program and upholds its obligation to allow the freedom of thought and religion.

The link will open up your e-mail program with the text of the petition and address already entered. The mail will also be sent to us so that we know how many supporters have expressed their concern to the Chinese Embassy.

Also, please take the time to write a personal letter to Madame Fu Ying, and copy it to your MP.
